Former NWA rapper-turned-actor Ice Cube is the latest celeb to get involved in the promotional campaign for Pacific Standard Time, the Getty-produced string of exhibitions focusing on post-war art in LA. Earlier video promos for the project have included Anthony Kiedis with Ed Ruscha and Jason Schwartzman with John Baldessari. This time around, Ice Cube waxes lyrical about design icons Charles and Ray Eames. The former architectural drafting student (who knew?) particularly admires the couple’s resourcefulness; “Got off-the-shelf factory windows, prefabricated walls,” he says. “They was doing mash-ups before mash-ups even existed.” Word.
