CEO of Melbourne Art Fair Resigns

MAF Director Bronwyn Johnson

Bronwyn Johnson has resigned after 16 years as the Director and CEO of Melbourne Art Fair.  Described by MAF chairman Bill Nuttall as “…the driving force at the Foundation”, Johnson effectively built the fair from scratch after taking over the Australian Contemporary Art Fair in 1995.

News of her departure coincides with the recent announcement that Melbourne can also expect a new art fair – The New Fair – in 2012 (reputedly the brain-child of former Sydney art dealer and current co-director of KalimanRawlins, Vasili Kaliman).  The next Melbourne Art Fair opens on the 1st  of August 2012, with The New Fair hot on its heels, opening on the 3rd.
