Tyler Clark and Ed McAliece have created three large watercolours for their unfortunately titled show at Seventh. In muted pastel washes contained by meticulously pencilled detailing, they set out to find the inherent rhythms in arrangements of everyday objects. The paintings are installed flat upon tables that the viewer can walk around, thus gaining access to the works from multiple angles. Accordingly, the highly decorative patterning is enlivened by a more complex cartographical reading.
