Magnum photographer Alec Soth is renowned for his photographs of small-town America. He documents ‘on the road’ encounters with people and places from the Mississippi River to Niagra Falls and, in September, will be the subject of a major survey exhibition at The Walker Art Centre in Minneapolis.
But Soth’s vision isn’t confined to the States. The artist is about to release a book of photographs taken in Godzone. Essentially two books in one, The Auckland Project is the result of a road trip Soth took with fellow photographer John Gossage in 2009, following an invitation to guest-lecture at the AUT School of Art and Design. Published by Radius Books, The Auckland Project is due to be released in November. Pre-order your copy here.
