New Museum Associate Director and Fondazione Nicola Trussardi Artistic Director Massimiliano Gioni has been announced as the Director of next year’s Venice Biennale. Gioni is a former Director of the Gwangju Biennale and in 2006 curated ‘Of Mice and Men’, the fourth Berlin Biennale. His recent shows include ‘Carsten Höller: Experience’ and ‘Ostalgia’, both at the New Museum.
At just 38 years old he is the youngest person to be appointed to the position in over 110 years.
